LTT Access and Permitting (System Acceptance Period)
This course provides an introduction to the access control and permitting process and procedures for the System Acceptance Period.
Description
The course will cover:
Access interfaces with Thames Water organisational bodies:
- TWUL Facilities Management;
- TWUL Operations;
- Independent Authorising Body (IAB);
- LTT Controllers;
- Waste Operations Control Centre (WOCC);
- Controller of Premises.
A summary of Thames Water essential standards:
- ES29 Safe isolation of plant and equipment;
- ES31 Entry to Sewers behind point of isolation;
- ES40 A contractor’s guide to confined space entry in Thames Water.
TWUL procedures and authorisations:
- TWUL Operational Safety Authorisation (TWOSA);
- Transfer of Controller of Premises (TOCOP);
- Confined space permit to work (C-Permit);
- G-Permit.
How to submit permit and access requests - Managing access requiring interface with Thames Water;
eTWOSA portal – an overview of how the portal works, timescales involved and guidance.
Outcomes
On completion of the training, Delegates are expected to understand:
- Types of potentially hazardous environments that may be encountered on the LTT Systems;
- Thames Water Organisational bodies that need to be contacted and when;
- Thames Water essential standards that apply and when;
- Thames Water permits and authorisations that are required and when;
- How to submit permit and access requests to Thames Water
Competency/Skills Requirements
Before attending the training, Delegates are expected to complete the:
- Safety Fundamentals System Acceptance Period training course;
- LTT System Overview training course;
Before attending the training, Delegates should ideally have:
- Experience of raising, submitting and managing access and permit requests with a third party;
- Knowledge of managing works in confined spaces;
- Experience of working with regulated water utility, such as Thames Water.
