Safety Fundamentals – Module 2 (Introduction to Hazards)

This course will provide an understanding of the common hazards across the IP Works and highlight the key hazards that are specific to individual MWC worksites.

Key Topic Areas

Training will cover:

  • Common hazards across the worksites;
  • Key hazards that are specific to individual worksites.

It should be noted that site-specific hazards are not included but are covered in the relevant modules.

Outcomes

On completion of the training, Delegates are expected to understand the hazards that may be encountered on the project and the general measures in place to mitigate them.

Competency/Skills Requirements

While this module will build from first principles, Delegates should ideally be competent and experienced in their particular role, with a working knowledge of applicable safety standards.

This course will provide training in how to respond to specific operating scenarios and incidents at an MWC worksite. It will include how to shut down plant and/or systems in the event of an emergency; connect temporary generators in the event of power outages; respond to fires in the ventilation and air treatment systems; clear vortex blockages.
