Inspection of Near Surface Structures eLearning
This course provides an understanding of the design provisions within the permanent works to facilitate the inspection of structures, e.g. where you would normally use CCTV access covers and personnel access to below ground structures via ladders we will use drone technology. It also provides training on where to find the coverage reports and an understanding of the drones and lighting technologies that are available to support the inspections.
Description
The course will cover:
-
Provisions within the permanent works to enable inspection of structures:
-
CCTV access covers;

Outcomes
On completion of the training, Delegates are expected to understand:
- How to inspect the near-surface structures using the provisions made in the permanent works to minimise manned access;
- Where to find the CCTV coverage reports and thereby establish the extent of ‘in person’ inspections required for each site;
- The CCTV and drone technology available on the market
Competency/Skills Requirements
Before attending the training session, Delegates are expected to complete:
- LTT System Overview.
Before attending the training, Delegates are also expected to have:
- Experience in managing/carrying out inspection of reinforced concrete structures.
