Maintaining Air Management Plant - Fans, Attenuators, Exposed Ductwork, Dampers eLearning
This course will provide training on how to inspect the air management plant; check and fine tune the ventilation dampers; undertake routine fan maintenance activities; remove/replace air management plant. It will also introduce possible reactive maintenance scenarios and the recommended responses.
Description
Training will cover all manufacturers recommended inspection, routine and reactive maintenance requirements, safe isolation and manual operation, where available. This will include:
- Potential hazards and risk mitigation associated with the work, addressed throughout the training below, as it progresses;
- Routine visual inspection of tunnel ventilation fans and associated acoustic enclosures and instrumentation;
- Routine inspection of acoustic attenuators, vent flues and Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) ductwork;
- Routine inspection of ventilation dampers;
- Damper setting, operation, calibration and removal/replacement;
- Routine fan maintenance, including removal;
- Maintenance, removal and replacement of integrated instrumentation;
- Reactive maintenance of tunnel ventilation fans, including:
- Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) system;
- Possible failure types;
- Emergency shut down and isolation points;
- Further steps – O&M manual and contacts.
