HMI Operator Training – Worksite Level eLearning
This course will provide training on how to use the HMI to operate plant and interrogate plant status.

The course will cover:
- Operator control of programme/task execution;
- Interrogation of control systems;
- Trend displays and exporting;
- Alarm management;
- Set point management;
- Monitoring plant status
- Plant exercise systems.
Competency/Skills Requirements
Before attending the training session, Delegates are expected to complete:
- Safety Fundamentals - Module 2 (Introduction to Hazards)
- Safety Fundamentals - Module 3 (Chamber Access)
- A background in operating and maintaining MEICA plant;
- Experience working with HMI panels (beneficial, but not essential).
Outcomes
On completion of the training, Delegates are expected to:
- Be able to initiate manual operations, e.g. closing of penstocks;
- Understand and be able to navigate HMI screens;
- Be able to display, interrogate and backup trend logs;
- Be able to navigate to, interrogate and manage alarm list;
- Understand and be able to alter setpoints to which the user has the appropriate access;
- Be able to interrogate the HMI to understand and monitor plant status;
- Initiate and monitor plant exercise systems.
