Maintenance Fundamentals eLearning

This course introduces the CMMS. It will provide guidance on where to find information in the O&M manuals and an introduction to the maintenance schedules.

Description

Key Topic Areas

The course will cover:

  • Management of routine and reactive maintenance;
  • An introduction to the CMMS;
    • Accessing maintenance records;
    • Accessing planned maintenance schedules;
    • Accessing spares records;
  • Routine maintenance requirements;
    • Identifying tasks via the maintenance schedule;
    • Use of relevant O&M manuals;
  • Reactive maintenance scenarios
    • Use of relevant O&M manuals.

Competency/Skills Requirements

Before attending the training course, Delegates are expected to have:

  • A background in maintaining MEICA equipment and plant;

Outcomes

On completion of the training, Delegates are expected to:

  • Understand the difference between routine and reactive maintenance;
  • Understand the O&M manual structure and where to find key information for reactive and routine maintenance;
  • Be able to access maintenance information via the CMMS;
  • Be able to identify routine maintenance requirements from the maintenance schedule and the CMMS;
  • Understand likely reactive maintenance tasks;
  • Understand what spares are provided, where they are located and how the inventory is managed (CMMS);
  • Understand fundamental design features incorporated to assist in maintenance:
    • Double isolation from penstock and Secondary Isolation Gate Lifting (SIGL);
    • Vortex approach safety grille;
    • CCTV inspection points.
