Maintaining Water Feature Plant and Irrigation System
This course will provide an understanding of the ‘Water Feature Plant and Irrigation System’ design and on-site layout, chemical systems used and hazards. It will also provide training on how to operate and inspect the plant and implement emergency shutdowns.

Key Topic Areas
Training will cover all manufacturers’ recommended inspection, routine and reactive maintenance requirements, safe isolation and manual operation where available.
The course will split into a classroom and a worksite session and will include:

- Familiarisation with design and on-site layout;
- Familiarisation with statutory requirements – inspection, competency;
- Discussion of key hazards and controls;
- Process overview;
- Chemical systems used and hazards;
- Water filtration system for both filter and Ultraviolet (UV) plant;
- Irrigation system operation and feed locations;
- Emergency shutdowns;
- Tanks and pump systems.
Outcomes
On completion of the training, Delegates are expected to be:
- Able to operate the water feature plant;
- Able to inspect equipment and understand common signs of deterioration;
- Familiar with and understand the process and the electrical and mechanical infrastructure of the plant.
Competency/Skills Requirements
Before attending the training session, Delegates are expected to complete:
- Safety Fundamentals - Module 2 (Introduction to Hazards)
- Maintenance Fundamentals.
Before attending the training, Delegates are also expected to have:
- Experience in operating and maintaining similar plant;
- Experience in operating clean water treatment plant.
Those undertaking statutory inspections are expected to already be qualified and competent to do so.
