LTT SCADA - Operations - Part 4
This course covers two training modules. On completion of the course, Delegates will understand how to recognise failures and how they are presented within the LTT SCADA, including the alarms associated with each type of failure. The course will include telecommunication, device, and power failures.
Description
Key Topic Areas
Module 1 - Operation Failure in Normal Operation:
The module will cover:
- Health and Safety (relevant for the working environment covered within this course);
- Operation during Automatic Operation;
- Overview of LTT SCADA Mimics;
- Telecommunication Failure at Local Worksite;
- Device Failure;
- Supervisory PLC and LTT SCADA communication failure;
- Failure Alarms shown within LTT SCADA.
Module 2 - Operation During Power Outages:
The module will cover:
- Health and Safety (relevant for the working environment covered within this course);
- Overview of LTT SCADA Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Monitoring Server – PowerChute;
- LTT SCADA Server – Power Failure – Automatic Restore;
- System generated Emails;
- Main works Power Failure;
- LTT SCADA Alarms;
- Worksite specific mimics – Worksite UPS active.
Outcomes
Module 1 - Operation Failure in Normal Operation:
The module will provide Delegates with the understanding of how the LTT SCADA System operates during an operational failure and the associated mimics. On completion of the training, Delegates will be expected to:
- Understand the LTT SCADA mimics during automatic (normal) operation;
- Be able to view and process telecommunication failure alarms from local worksites;
- Understand the different device failures that will be shown in LTT SCADA.
- Process and acknowledge device failure alarms;
- Understand the system’s reaction to a failure between the Supervisory PLC and LTT SCADA;
- Understand the failure alarms presented in LTT SCADA.
Module 2 - Operation During Power Outages:
This module will provide delegates with the practical hands-on experience needed to understand and manage power outage failures and the various alarms associated with a power outage at LTT SCADA and Main Works worksites. On completion of the training, delegates will be expected to:
- Understand the LTT SCADA UPS monitoring system;
- Understand LTT SCADA automatic restore after a graceful shutdown;
- Access and receive the system generated power failure alert emails;
- Be able to view and acknowledge Main works generated power failure alarms in LTT SCADA;
- Be able to view local worksite recovery procedures – setpoint changes with LTT SCADA.
Competency/Skills Requirements
Before attending the training, Delegates are expected to complete:
