Maintaining Server and Control Room Equipment - Part 1

This course covers three training modules. On completion of the course, Delegates will have the information they need to understand the control procedures implemented in the LTT SCADA Control System and will be able to interpret the information captured within the log files. They will also understand the LTT SCADA Control Systems network, and how it has been configured.

Outcomes

Module 1 - System Interrogation:

This module will provide Delegates with the information they need to understand the control procedures implemented within the LTT SCADA Control System, and to interpret the information captured within the log files.

On completion of the training, Delegates will be expected to:

  • Understand the structure and contents of the O&M manuals;
  • Understand the T006 Control procedure;
  • Be able to interrogate the Log Information gathered form the Main Works VLANs;
  • Be able to interrogate the Log Information gathered form the Server Worksite VLANs.

Module 2 - Maintaining Server and Control Room Equipment – Introduction:

This module will provide Delegates with an understanding of how the System Integrator Contractor has developed the as-built records for the server and control room equipment, how to locate the equipment when on site and understand from a practical perspective how to apply software updates and maintenance system updates.

On completion of the training, Delegates will be expected to understand:

  • The as-built drawings and records for the Server and Control Room;
  • How to locate the equipment at Beckton;
  • The requirements for inspection, cleaning, and consumables replacement;
  • The Server and Control Room Build documentation;
  • How to deploy software updates and patches;
  • The CMMS update processes.

Module 3 - Network, Domain and Security Management:

This module will provide the Delegates with the information needed to understand how the LTT SCADA Control System’s network has been configured and the security packages that have been implemented.  On completion of the training, Delegates will be expected to:

  • Understand the network segmentation for the LTT SCADA Control System;
  • Understand the Cyber Security Control measures that have been implemented;
  • Be able to manage the network and security at all four worksite types.

Competency/Skills Requirements

Before attending the training, Delegates are expected to complete:

Before attending the training, Delegates are also expected to have:

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity;
  • A background in computer science and network infrastructure.

Similar courses

This course covers three training modules. On completion, Delegates will understand and know how to complete backups on the LTT SCADA Control System, follow disaster recovery procedures and process relating to LTT SCADA and understand how to gracefully shut-down and re-start the LTT SCADA Control Systems.

More Information

This course covers two training modules. On completion of the course, Delegates will know how to complete the maintenance activities on the equipment the System Integrator Contractor has installed in the Server and Control Rooms. The course will describe the planned and reactive maintenance procedures.
