Maintaining Control Room Equipment (Part 2)

Module 1 provides information on the maintenance plans and schedules for the Telemetry Panel equipment installed on a worksite. Module 2 provides Delegates with the practical skills needed to locate and maintain Control Room equipment at the main work sites.

Description

Module 1 – Management of Routine and Reactive Maintenance – Control Room Equipment
This module will cover:

  • Refresh of SIC planned maintenance schedules (VI, CI, SPI);
  • Explanation of SIC Reactive Maintenance procedures including backups;
  • Explanation of SIC O&M manuals for control room equipment.

 

Module 2 – Maintaining Control Room Equipment – Practical
This module will cover:

  • Health and Safety (relevant for the working environment covered within this course);
  • Refresh of Construction Records and Site Layout;
  • Walk-through site to locate equipment;
  • Visual inspection of equipment;
  • Configuration Inspection of equipment;
  • System Performance Inspection.
  • How to replace a client (domain integration, port unlocking etc)

Outcomes

Module 1 – Management of Routine and Reactive Maintenance – Control Room Equipment
The module will provide Delegates with an understanding of the maintenance plans and schedules for the Telemetry Panel equipment installed on a worksite.

On completion of the training, Delegates will be expected to understand:

  • The activities within the maintenance schedules;
  • Reactive maintenance procedures and key contacts;
  • Backup procedures;
  • How to update the maintenance records after planned and reactive maintenance activities.

 

Module 2 – Maintaining Control Room Equipment – Practical

The module will provide Delegates with the practical skills needed to locate and maintain Control Room equipment at the main work sites.

On completion of the training, Delegates will be expected to be able to:

  • Locate the Control Room Equipment at a worksite;
  • Inspect, clean, and replace components;
  • Replace a client workstation (domain integration, port unlocking etc)

Competency/Skills Requirements

Before attending the training, Delegates are expected to complete:

  • LTT System Overview;
  • LTT SCADA - Basic Understanding;
  • Maintaining Control Room Equipment (Part 1);

Before attending the training, Delegates are also expected to have;

  • ICA Knowledge and Maintenance Experience.

Similar courses

Module 1 provides high level information on the main hardware elements of the LTT SCADA system, where they are located, how they are connected and their functionality. It also covers the system role of the Telemetry Panels. Module 2 provides information behind the design of the worksite Telemetry Panels and the difference between them and the worksite PLCs provided by the MWCs. The course also covers PLC functionality.
