Description

This module will cover:

  • Cyber security;
  • Siem solution;
  • Network segregation;
  • Network management tools;
  • Solar Winds alarm system e.g. walk through from alarm point to email/SCADA

Competency/Skills Requirements

Before attending the training, Delegates are expected to complete:

  • Maintaining Server Equipment (Part 2)

 

Outcomes

On completion of the training, Delegates will be expected to:

  • Identify how the antivirus updates work;
  • Be able to view Siem recommendations;
  • Understand how the network is segregated;
  • Understand how the firewalls are configured;
  • Be able to access the network management tools and understand how they are configured;
  • Be able to quickly identify faults;
  • How to monitor the performance of VM`s;
  • Understand which VM`s run on which physical server;
  • Looking at Vsphere and identifying VM overloads i.e. memory shortages;
  • Confirm which VM are running at DESAL and which are running on the ADMIN servers;
  • If maintenance is required on one physical server they will understand what is being shut down and what may potentially need moving and restarting on the other server to keep the system fully operational.

Module 1 provides high level information on the main hardware elements of the LTT SCADA system, where they are located, how they are connected and their functionality. It also covers the system role of the Telemetry Panels. Module 2 provides information behind the design of the worksite Telemetry Panels and the difference between them and the worksite PLCs provided by the MWCs. The course also covers PLC functionality.
